Pupils and staff returned from the annual school ski trip after half term, having had a wonderful time in Northern Italy.
The group spent the best part of a week enhancing their skiing skills with daily lessons from instructors at a popular resort in LaThuile.
Head of School, Mr Sprakes, led the trip and was very proud of pupils’ behaviour.
He said, “What an amazing trip - the pupils were absolutely fantastic and so resilient.
“Ski trips are so enjoyable, but at the same time are hard work. Cold weather, high altitude, uncomfortable boots, strange food – the Malet pupils just took everything in their stride.
“By the end of the week all pupils were competent skiers, which was brilliant to see.
“Their behaviour was exemplary and our rep commented on this. I couldn’t be more proud of them and I know they had a great time!”
Year 11 pupil Ellie echoed Mr Sprakes’ comments, saying she’d recommend the trip to others in the school.
She said, “It was an amazing experience, I’d recommend it to anyone else for next year – especially if you go with a group of friends.
“The skiing was excellent and most of us found it really easy to pick up the skills. After a couple of days, we were trying the harder slopes and learning more difficult techniques from the instructors.
“The area we stayed in was beautiful and our resort was right in the middle of everything, so we could go on the slopes, or visit the shops and restaurants.
“Even though the skiing was great, we had so much fun on an evening too, taking part in quizzes and enjoying the entertainment with the teachers.
“This is my last year at Malet so it was good to relax a little before exams start, and make some memories before I leave.”
