All over the school there is creative learning all around, whether it’s drama, music or art. At Malet Lambert you don’t have to look far to find a world of exciting things. Even in the forum you’ll find professional art sculptures racked along the corridors by the creative minds of the pupils that attend the school. These sculptures have been made by GCSE students to represent their personalities, however next year the current Year 10s won’t be doing this as a new head of art has been selected.
The teachers are all excited to explore the wonders of the arts and eager to pass on their knowledge. Either it’s the lessons or extra-curricular activities that take place, it’s for certain that the opportunities are endless.
One example of these opportunities is the annual school production however this year there’s a twist to be found. Instead of a production, this year it will be showcase of some major productions that have starred on Broadway in recent years. Heather (age 13) has been a part of these productions for the past two years and she says that she “enjoys been a part of something like this and that you become like a family”. The positive feedback we received was very fulfilling.
As well as the performing aspect of the upcoming production there is also the extreme hard work of the orchestra and students showing off their musical talents. Singers, pianists, guitarists, drummers and lots more, these are just some of the musically talented people that will partake in the production.
Overall we are in for a treat with all the talented students and talents around Malet Lambert.
