She said “I've always wanted to be a teacher, I've known since a very young age that I've wanted to be a teacher (since 5 or 6 years old). I knew what I needed to do to get there and that was my focus. That's it. I wanted to be a teacher and here I am! I know it's a bit cheesy but this is all I've ever wanted to do. Knowing that I could make a difference to at least one person makes me feel really good. I get a lot of joy out of this job. I love teaching at Malet Lambert. I know some of you guys know I came here when I was a pupil and my english teacher inspired me to think actually i want to do that and I love it at Malet.”
Miss Pickering
“During university I worked at McDonalds. When I finished my degree I realised I wanted to learn and I felt like when you're teaching, you're always learning and I really enjoy working with new people. I helped out at soccer sensation session with kids who got kicked out of school and I then realised I wanted to teach. I do like teaching at Malet Lambert but I’d definitely pursue my career as a popstar. Obviously that's a joke I‘d never leave working with amazing people and children like you guys”
Miss Torrie
"When I was younger I loved singing, dancing and acting and basically my dad got me involved in acting and I just loved it, I loved musicals I think that's all I ever used to watch. I worked at Build a Bear Factory, a flower shop and a jewellery shop and as a study support mentor."
Miss Hutchinson
“I worked at Hull Council. I love the library it's a good challenge. I like working at Malet Lambert. I love to see pupils reading and I wouldn't give it up. I’m passionate about literacy and reading and I love being guided by pupils' choices."
Miss Winter
“I used to work at British Home Store. I came here after getting my degree at university and I just fancied getting into schools and seeing what it was like. I like teaching at Malet Lambert because it's a really nice school and there are really nice people here."
