Malet Lambert was pleased to host the second cross-trust INSET day, with colleagues from Driffield School and South Hunsley School joining us for a day of training sessions.
An incredible singing performance from Year 8 pupil Brooke started the day off, followed by a welcome from Head of School Mr Sprakes, and Trust CEO Mr Jonny Uttley.
Mr Uttley revealed that the Trust will be offering all teaching staff the opportunity to become a registered member of the Chartered College of Teaching for free, indicating their importance as experienced, highly skilled professionals.
Almost 400 staff gathered in the main hall to hear motivational words from Andy Pickles, CEO of U-Explore, a tool for careers education.
Andy spoke about his career journey so far and how important it is to help pupils find their ‘thing’ – something they are both good at and passionate about, and how to manage their expectations in our current climate.
For the remainder of the day, staff split off into departmental groups to take part in bespoke training and discuss best practice.
