Our sports teams continue to go from strength to strength and many are having a solid season in terms of wins and progression. Year 7 boys teams in both football and rugby were excellent examples of this last week.
The rugby team were playing in the 2nd round of the Hull Cup against Kingswood School, having already won the East Hull league and the Hull 9-a-side tournament.
Two players made their debut for the rugby team in a fantastic performance, which saw the team beat their rivals 52-0. There were six different try scorers and seven different kickers who helped bring the team to victory.
Coach and PE Teacher, Mr Beadle, was incredibly pleased with their win.
He said, “I was not only proud of the team for winning so emphatically, but I was so very impressed with the manner of the victory.
“Every player stayed focused and respected the Kingswood team by not over-celebrating or rubbing salt into their wounds.
“They showed a real level of maturity and humility in their win.”
The team continue to play in the Hull Cup, and are also in the semi-final of the Yorkshire Plate.
On the same day, Year 7 boys football team were also playing an important match – the Hull Cup semi-final.
In a very entertaining match, the team beat Kelvin Hall 5-3 with goals from four different players, sailing into the final.
Congratulations to all!
