Every two months, staff have the opportunity to nominate one person from their year group to be put forward to receive a prize for their hard work at school, as part of the Above and Beyond project in Hull.
Five students were presented with a reward of their choice, generously supplied by a local business that supports the Above and Beyond scheme.
This time the winners were:
Year 7 - Beth Drury, who was chosen by her head of year for her excellent academic progress and for being in the top 10% of recognition points scorers in her year. She chose tickets to Hull Ice Arena.
Year 8 - Daniel King, who has impressed staff with his outstanding progress in all subjects. He was presented with a family pass to Hollywood Bowl.
Year 9 - Jessica Barrett, who was nominated because she has made the most progress out of anyone in her whole year. She also chose a family pass to Hollywood Bowl.
Year 10 - Abbie Everett, who has shown rapid and sustained progress in all of her subjects. She picked tickets to a Hull KR match so she could spend some time with her dad.
Year 11 - Megan Cook, who was put forward because she has worked hard to be on target to achieve higher than all her predicted grades at GCSE. Her chosen prize was a pair of tickets to see a Hull City match.
Above and Beyond is a scheme created with the backing of local businesses from across Hull and the East Riding to provide schools, and more importantly pupils, with incentives for (i) contribution to the local community, (ii) academic improvements, (iii) attendance and punctuality improvements and (iv) contribution to school life.
The next round of nominations will be made in February.
