Last night was our Year 9 Options Information Evening.
We had an excellent turnout of students and parents - over 90% attendance - who were all keen to talk to staff and find out more about the courses available from Year 10.
It is so important for parents to work together with us to help students gather the information they need to make important decisions about their GCSE/BTEC options, so your presence was greatly appreciated.
We had some excellent feedback from parents who found the evening had helped them clearly understand exactly what was on offer for their child:
“It has been incredibly useful for me to attend tonight. It can be hard to advise your children to make important decisions like this, so it was important for us to find out as much as possible. “
"Once we got talking to teachers it helped clear up some things we were confused about. We're now much more clued up on the decisions she has to make.”
"It's been great to get some more in-depth detail on the subjects she wants to study.”
Our students also found it useful. Hannah Brown has picked courses that she likes and knows she will enjoy, and spoke to staff to find out more about what she would learn in GCSE Art.
Grace Killelay is excited to study Textiles - she already has a sewing machine at home and enjoys making things in her spare time.
William Shaw is hoping to be a chemical engineer, so he is looking to study triple science, and engineering with HETA.
