The School Day

The School Day

The school day starts at 8.40 am and ends officially at 3.10 pm, although very many children stay voluntarily beyond that time to engage in extra-curricular activities. All pupils have 25 hours of teaching per week. The day is sub-divided as follows:

08.40 - Registration
08.45 - 09.00 Act of Worship, Tutor time, Assembly
09.00 - 10.00 Period 1
10.00 - 11.00 Period 2
11.00 - 11.15 Refreshment Break
11.15 - 12.15 Period 3
12.15 - 13.15 Lunch Break
13.15 - 14.15 Registration and Period 4
14.15 - 15.10 Period 5

Autumn Term 3rd September – 21st December 2012   
Autumn Half-Term 29th October – 2nd November 2012

Spring Term 7th January – 22nd March 2013
Spring Half-Term 11th February –15th February 2013

Summer Term 8th April – 19th July 2013
May Day Holiday 6th May 2013
Summer Half-Term 27th May – 31st May 2013

Staff training day dates are as follows: 3rd & 4th September 2012, 7th January 2013, 8th April 2013, 1 further day to be disaggregated.
