MathsThe teaching members of the Mathematics department have a wide range of skills and experience. We aim for all pupils to enjoy Mathematics, feel confident with numeracy outside school, be confident learners and to have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
FacilitiesThe Mathematics department are housed in nine classrooms. Each classroom has an interactive whiteboard and various interactive resources available. One of the Mathematics classrooms has fifteen computers for pupils use during lessons and are available at lunchtime for pupils to do homework. CoursesIn Years 7 and 8 we teach Mathematics to the National Curriculum. In Years 9 to 11 we offer Modular GCSE using the Edexcel examinations board. This consists of three modules examinations taken over the three Years. Pupils in Years 9 to 11 also take a Functional Mathematics examination which tests the ability of using Mathematical skills in order to solve real life problems. All of these skills are taught within Mathematics lessons. We also offer Entry Level Mathematics to various pupils. Extra-curricular |
