Pastoral Support

At Malet Lambert, pastoral care means ensuring that all pupils have the opportunity to realise their potential and ambitions. On joining the school pupils are placed into mixed ability tutor groups and remain there for their five years at the school.

The form tutor therefore has a very important role in your child's life at school. He or she is the first point of contact for the pupils and for the parents. The form tutor takes an active role in the monitoring of the progress of the pupils, encouraging and supporting as required and communicating with parents informally or more formally at parent's consultation evenings.

We also have a team of Learning Mentors who address the needs of pupils to help them overcome barriers to learning in order to achieve their full potential.  The whole tutorial and support process is under the leadership of a Deputy Headteacher.
