On Tuesday night, Malet Lambert played in yet another sport final, this time in the Hull & East Riding Rugby Plate.
The Year 10 rugby team - fielding their strongest side - took on Wolfreton School in an epic battle to victory.
After 10 minutes the game still remained 0-0. Malet were the first team to break the deadlock with a fantastic team try. Kieran converted the kick to make it 6-0.
Malet continued to dominate throughout the first half and managed to take a 12-0 lead before Wolfreton mounted an attack, after great defensive work from Matthew, Robert and Owen.
In the second half, Wolfreton managed to scramble over the line and score their first try of the game. Malet staged a couple of fantastic passing moves which were started by Brad and Lewis, leading to a further two tries from Malet.
Towards the end of the second half, hooker Joe completed his hat trick of tries and Malet were in complete control of the game, leading 34-6.
After a few mistakes in the last few minutes, Wolfreton scored two tries and converted one kick to make the final score Malet 34 - 16 Wolfreton.
