Earlier this month, Ellie from Year 9 had her picturesque shot of Prince Street in Hull (see inset) published in the Hull Daily Mail as Picture of the Day.
At only 13 years old, this is quite an achievement, but this is not a one-off shot - she's got a whole lot more up her sleeve!
Ellie has been taking photos as a hobby for the past few years and was gifted a new camera for Christmas which has intensified her passion for photography.
She takes photos wherever she can and edits them using an app on her iPhone.
She said, "I love photography. I just started taking photos of things a few years ago and realised how much I enjoyed it.
"I don't just take photos of landscapes or pretty things. I like to take photos of things that are unusual or ugly and make them look interesting."
Ellie is hoping to take her hobby one step further and will be studying art at GCSE next year, followed by specialising in digital photography at college.
She said, "I don't know whether I'll take it to degree level, but i'd definitely like to learn more about what I enjoy doing, and get better at it.
"I'm going to try and enter more competitions, starting with one that geography are running that is about taking photos of the place where you live."
