Technology is key for improving our teaching and learning experience at Malet Lambert. From next week, students and staff will have access to a new learning platform called RM Unify to support learning at home.
The majority of RM Unify is very similar to the current learning platform used within school. However, this new version includes links to useful sites to aid with homework and lessons, and also provides access to Office 365.
Office 365 is cloud-based software that provides everyone at Malet Lambert with 25gb online storage space for their school work and the use of an online version of Microsoft Office.
When logged on via an internet connection, students and staff can access the files and folders stored on their Office 365 cloud anywhere, at anytime. They can also edit or create new files in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint - without needing the physical software on their computer or device.
The platform can be used on a laptop/PC, Mac, tablet and most smart phones.
Mr Hudson, Assistant Headteacher in charge of e-Learning, feels this new online facility will be very beneficial for the whole school community.
“The majority of our students have access to the internet via tablet or laptop, so being able to continue with their schoolwork without having to purchase software will be of great benefit to their studies.
“Staff will appreciate the extra cloud storage space and easier access to their work documents for planning and marking.”
The web address for RM Unify is mls.rmunify.com and students should log on with their usual login details.
