Year 8 made their way to the KC Stadium on Thursday for an interactive STEM event called Teen Tech.
The annual, and nationwide event, included a variety of different activities for the students to take part in whilst they were there, plus competitions and team challenges.
Mr Johansson arranged the trip for the Year 8 students who were nominated to go.
The trip is largely focused around STEM, which is about science, technology, engineering and mathematics, and aims to encourage young people to think about careers in this area.
The event was supported by a wide range of local and national businesses and organisations, including Hobson and Porter, BBC, University of Hull, Maplin, EDF Energy and Siemens.
Nina who was a student attending these activities said “Our experience with teen tech out of school was great, we met many different people who actually worked within STEM and they gave us an insight into what it is about.
“At the start of the day we visited many workshops, some to do with science and some to do with technology. At the end of the day, we had to invent a gadget which would help people – our group won the best design!”
Lucy who was also at the teen tech trip said, “Today I fully enjoyed all of the activities! Throughout the day we did fun tasks and some games that had a lot to do with science and technology.
“One of my favourite things to do was the invention making because we all got to work in a group, and we then had to present the inventions to others! I also enjoyed answering the questions with the remotes we were given, because it was fun to see what everyone else thought.”
