A message from our senior team:
As many of you will be aware, we notified parents last week that those pupils not wearing the correct school uniform would be isolated in school with work set for a day this week. This has been necessary for a few pupils so far on Monday and Tuesday. Although there are other minor issues, trouser style seems to be the main issue currently.
With nearly 1500 pupils passing through the school gate on a morning, it is inevitable that some pupils will be missed. We intend for this rule to be consistent for all pupils and so will continue each morning with the uniform checks.
Those pupils who have been isolated have been given until Monday of next week (21st) to be wearing the proper uniform. Pupils who have already been isolated will not be isolated again this week and will be given a slip to indicate to staff that they have been spoken too, so that they aren’t constantly asked about their uniform.
We maintain, as does the DfE, that a smart school uniform sets the tone for work as well as defining the ethos for the school. We want to maintain our high standards and expectations.
In general, our pupils are looking very smart and we’d like to thank parents for their continued support.
