The University of Hull and 'Business in the Community' held a special event last week for Key Stage 3 students called ‘Aspiring Futures.’
This was ideal for our Year 9 students to attend because they will soon be thinking about their option choices for GCSE study next year.
Students had the opportunity to chat with employers and training providers - like the Army, McArthur Dean, Hull College and The University of Law - about the skills and qualifications they will need for the workplace.
They also attended workshops in groups, that ranged from building teamwork skills to investigating a supply chain to employability skills.
Year 9 students all seemed to enjoy the event, and were also keen to go back to the university for ACE day later in the year.
The academy received feedback from the hosts that Malet Lambert students were ‘extremely polite, very mature and a pleasure to talk to!’
A film of the day's event can be viewed here.
