Year 11 Progress update - Miss Pearson
We welcome back Year 11, after what we hope has been a restful but productive Easter holiday in preparation for the half-term ahead.
Year 11 pupils have 14 school days prior to the GCSE examinations starting on the 15th May 2017, followed by four weeks of examinations.
Research clearly shows a direct correlation between attendance and the progress/achievement made by pupils, with the biggest impact seen with those of attendance below 90%. Attendance of below 90% equates to a half day absence per week
Attendance every day this half term is crucial. There will be key intervention, revision and exam technique lessons covered every day, which pupils cannot afford to miss.
In addition to this, English and Maths have additional revision sessions on alternate Monday evenings, 3.15-4.15pm, starting with Maths on 24th April. Science are also running revision sessions after school fortnightly on Wednesdays starting on 26th April. These sessions are open to everyone and attendance is strongly encouraged.
Other subjects also have sessions running on a Thursday, please see the enrichment timetable for further information.
Your son/daughter last half term received a letter regarding a Saturday revision morning for the full year group on 20th May 2017. If your child has yet to return the letter, please ask them to pass on to their English teacher ASAP, or alternatively you contact Miss Beadle at school to confirm attendance.
To further support you and your child with their revision, please use our revision website, which has schedules of which topics need revising and the resources needed for each subject. This website is continually updated. www.maletlambertrevision.co.uk
Throughout the examination period, Year 11s are welcome to revise in the forum from 7.30am - a subsidised revision breakfast will be available.
Should you require any further support with revision or the upcoming examinations, please contact the relevant subject teachers or Mrs Wright/ Miss Pearson.
Finally, we recognise and know how hard the year group are working, and would like to wish them the best of luck!
