Some of our Year 10 pupils have been cooking and making lasagne and rosemary bread today, to raise money for the school allotment.
Mrs Sibary, Head of Food Technology, said, “We want to become more environmentally friendly and sustainable.”
“We want to buy a polytunnel for the garden, so we can grow more of our own herbs and vegetables.”
Two groups of pupils, one making the lasagne, the other cooking and kneading the bread, made the food from scratch and it was then sold to teachers over lunch.
Mr Halls, another member of the technology department, said, “The lasagne was exquisite, it was possibly the best food I have tasted at Malet Lambert.”
In total, they raised £60 from the lasagne, and overall, now have £150 of the £200 needed to buy the gardening equipment.
