After a full day’s interview last week, four pupils have been selected to lead our Pupil Leadership Team for 2018/19.
A group of 14 Year 10 pupils were shortlisted from applications, and faced a tough interview process last Thursday.
Interviews with the Head of School and a panel of governors were followed by questions from fellow pupils and a presentation to staff in the main hall.
After careful consideration, Bluejay and Crown pupils Bryce and Samantha were awarded Head Boy and Head Girl.
Their deputies, Nathan and Jessica from Crown and Rose house, will ably assist them in their duties to lead the rest of the team and provide a voice for pupils in our school.
Head of School, Mr Sprakes, found the decision incredibly tough and was delighted with the standard of the applicants.
He said, “It was very difficult to decide who would take on the Head Boy and Head Girl roles for this year.
“All pupils did themselves proud and came across very well during the interview day. It was wonderful to hear their vision and enthusiasm for their school.
“They will all receive a letter home, congratulating them on their achievements, and encouraging them to apply for house captain roles when they become available.
"Huge congratulations to Bryce, Samantha, Nathan and Jessica. It is an honour to represent the school in this way, and they will be excellent role models for the school community.
"Also, many thanks to the outgoing Year 11 heads and deputies, Yasmin, Jacob, Tom and Evie. Your contributions will be formally recognised at the school prom in July."
