Yesterday, at Malet Lambert, we had the dreadfully sad task of running morning assemblies for all year groups in school, to inform pupils that year 11 pupil Marley Cass, passed away peacefully on 12th November after a long battle with illness. This was with the permission of her family.
Although understandably upset, pupils have been very compassionate to one another. Marley’s closest friends are being closely supported and further support, both internally and externally has been offered to all pupils and staff. Bereavement councillors are on hand in school also.
Some of Marley’s closest friends have been reminiscing. They described their friend as a ‘Quirky, colourful person. A huge Taylor Swift fan, with a love of baking, toffee fudge ice cream and Chinese food.’ Her friends also spoke of how resilient and determined Marley was and how proud they are of her.
Pupils were encouraged in assemblies to look after one another as part of our extended Malet Lambert family. Our love, thoughts and prayers are with Marley, her family and closest friends at this distressing time.
