Year 9 boys have made it to the final eight teams in the race to become U14 B team champions in the Playstation Schools National Cup, and they play their quarter final match today against Brockington College.
To make today even more exciting, Playstation and the ESFA (England Schools Football Association) have descended on Malet Lambert to host a Tie of the Round event.
In our sports hall, there are Playstation consoles galore with a variety of new games for our students to test, plus a virtual tournament zone where 16 students will be battling it out to become champion of FIFA14.
Outside, top coaches from ESFA are running training sessions with PE students to enhance their football skills and develop their technique.
Later on this afternoon we'll be proudly welcoming Hull City midfielder Tom Huddlestone, who'll be meeting with students, taking part in interviews and leading a warm up session with our Year 9 team before their big match.
Malet Lambert is very proud to be hosting such an event and believe it is a great testimony to students' excellent sporting achievements.
Raising aspirations for all students is part of our ethos and we always welcome talented and successful individuals, whether from sporting or academic backgrounds, to meet our students.
The match kicks off today at 3.30pm and all students and their parents are welcome to come and support the team.
Good luck Year 9!
