Appropriate behaviour is essential for high quality learning to take place.
The school sets high expectations for learning and awards pupils who meet those expectations with reward points. Throughout the year pupils are rewarded as they meet each of the reward system milestones. The milestones are: Form Tutor award, bronze, silver, gold and platinum. As each of these is passed the pupils will be offered the choice of a small gift or they may forgo the gift and ask for a donation to be made to their Year Group charity on their behalf.
Most pupils exhibit behaviour that allows them and other pupils to learn effectively in lessons. There are however a range of sanctions available when a pupil’s behaviour is not what we would expect. These include break and lunch time detentions, after school detentions and internal isolation. For more serious issues, fixed term exclusion and permanent exclusion are sanctions that are available. Sanctions involving exclusion follow local authority guidelines.
