We believe that at Malet Lambert our pupils need to have the knowledge and the skills for the virtual world as well as the real world. Our pupils enjoy learning about and using ICT at school, and we have had outstanding academic achievement in ICT qualifications over recent years. The use of ICT has grown enormously in the past five years and we are ready for a new chapter in the history of Malet Lambert School. The completion of the school refurbishment, under the Building Schools for Future programme, has enabled us to invest substantially in new ICT technologies across the school curriculum.
We are pioneering and embracing new technologies to raise standards in our school. Enhancing and supporting pupils’ learning is at the heart of e-learning at Malet Lambert School.
Malet Lambert aims to keep pupils and staff safe in the real world as well as the virtual world. Our online safety policy provides staff with a code of conduct to insure safety in the digital world. Our pupils agree to follow the Malet Lambert Pupil ICT Acceptable use Policy. We also provide parents a guide to ‘Safety in a Digital World’.
The digital world is changing at such a rapid rate and so are the dangers/risks. We provide pupils with online safety lessons in PSHE and ICT. We also reinforce the importance of online safety in assemblies, tutor time and during school events, such as Safer Internet Day. All staff at Malet Lambert have an important role to play in reinforcing online safety to pupils. Therefore we provide staff regular training to ensure they have the knowledge to support our pupils in online safety.
