Uniform Standards
A big thank you to students and parents for the positive response to our focus on uniform standards last week. Before doing anything, we communicated widely and well in advance with parents and students about our intention to address the standard of uniform.
We isolated students with work on Tuesday 23rd during the morning and then gave each of them five school days to address the uniform issue. When we repeated this on Wednesday 24th we had less than half that number in isolation which is testament to our students and to our communication with parents. By the end of the week we had hardly any students in isolation.
What next ?
From a whole school uniform perspective, this week will be focused on ensuring that all uniform issues have been resolved for those specific students whom we isolated last week. Each was given five school days to resolve the issue(s). Parental contact was made. A student who was isolated on Wednesday 24th February had until tutor time on Wednesday 2nd March to resolve the issue. As always we have encouraged parents to get in touch where there are specific issues and we have, as always, tried to work alongside parents to get the right outcome. Please continue to contact us on this matter.
And beyond ?
Between Friday 4th March and Friday 11th March, all tutors will be doing additional checks on students during form time and they will be issuing specific uniform slips in duplicate, asking that issues are resolved by Monday 14th March. On Monday 14th March, we will isolate any student who has not responded to the tutor’s uniform slip.
Who to contact about any of the above ?
In the first instance please contact your child’s form tutor. Beyond that please contact your child’s Pastoral Leader.
