Ann Barker

Ann Barker

Role: Chair of Governors

Link for English, History, Religious Studies, Geography, Technology and Newly Qualified Teachers. 

Ann is an experienced governor and Chair of Governors.
 
Ann’s background consists of classroom teaching and various senior teaching roles across schools in Hull and the East Riding. She also sits on the Board of Trustees for the Multi-Academy Trust and is delighted to be part of such an exciting partnership.

Leanne Killelay

Leanne Killelay

Role: Vice Chair of Governors

Leanne holds a BSC Hons qualification in Critical Care Nursing and is employed as a Critical Care outreach Sister. Leanne is an experienced school governor and has held the position of Chair of Governors at primary school level, as well as being a governor at secondary.

Margaret Wright

Margaret Wright

Role: Governor

Link for Modern Foreign Languages and Health and Safety. Margaret was appointed Head of Music at Malet Lambert in 1986, remaining at the school for 24 years until her retirement in 2010.

Margaret has served on numerous interview panels, disciplinary panels and sits on the Audit Committee for the Multi-Academy Trust.

She was heavily involved with the school achieving Academy status and is now fully committed to The Education Alliance.

She is looking forward to the next stage of Malet Lambert’s journey and knows that it will be an exciting time for everyone involved.

Joyce Wood

Joyce Wood

Role: Governor

For over 20 years Joyce has volunteered to become a part of numerous educational initiatives including Pooh Bear Reading Assistance, The Children's University, the Right to Read with Yorkshire TV, and the School Appeals Panel.

Joyce is an experienced governor, in which she has served as both Chair and Vice Chair within the region. She now looks forward to the bright future within the Multi Academy Trust.

Claire Hanmer

Claire Hanmer

Role: Staff Governor

Claire has been teaching for 18 years and is currently in her 14th year of teaching at Malet Lambert, 12 of which have been in the role of Head of Modern Foreign Languages.

In addition to this, she has always had a keen interest in supporting trainee teachers and NQTs. She worked as a mentor before taking on the role of ITT and NQT coordinator six years ago. She considers this to be a key role and is always keen to support colleagues and help develop their skills. Claire ensures that consistently high quality training, in all subject areas, is delivered for ITT students and NQTs.

As part of her current role as a qualified coach, she trains staff and facilitates coaching sessions across the school.

Ken McCall

Ken McCall

Role: Staff Governor

Ken McCall has worked in local education primarily within ICT & Computer Science and more recently as a Head of Year. He is an active trade union representative for the NUT (National Union of Teachers), representing members both collectively and individually; and serves on the executive board of the local division.

He has also recently been appointed as a Director of National Careers Week. His areas of knowledge and expertise include education policy, industrial relations, and IT policy and procurement.

 

Gill Andrews

Gill Andrews

Role: Governor

Link for Safeguarding, Child Protection, Pupil Premium and Special Educational Needs.

Gill, being a former pupil of Malet Lambert, is proud to be a part of the governing body.

Gill has knowledge and experience of Special Educational Needs, safeguarding, looked after children and Pupil Premium.

She is responsible for these areas of expertise at Malet Lambert. Gill has also worked as a part time youth worker.

Priya Coe

Priya Coe

Role: Parent Governor

Link for Music and Drama.

Priya is a parent governor at Malet Lambert.

Priya studied at the University of Hull and graduated with a degree in French Studies. Following this, she ran her own business, as a successful DJ and promoter, which she is still involved with on a part-time basis.

With a keen interest in education, Priya trained as a primary school teacher, and she successfully graduated at the University of Hull with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Paul Holloway

Paul Holloway

Role: Governor

Paul is a Parent Governor, and has seen all three of his children thrive at Malet Lambert. Paul takes a keen interest in all aspects of the school, especially those which reflect his role as Arts and Culture Manager at Hull City Council. Paul believes that the success of the City of Culture 2017 has given all of our young people a new confidence and pride in their city, and is proud to play a part in providing opportunities for all the fantastic young people at Malet Lambert.

Mark Randell

Mark Randell

Role: Governor

Mark was born and raised in Hull, Graduating from the University of Hull in 2009 with a degree in Accounting.

He worked in accountancy practice for 6 years qualifying in 2014 as a Chartered Accountant whilst working for a local firm before moving to one of the top global practice firms.

Mark has recently moved into an industry role and is looking to bring his financial experience to the governing body.

Elaine Johansson

Elaine Johansson

Role: Governor

Elaine is very proud to be a member of the Local Governing Body, having recently taken early retirement from the role of PA to the Head of School at Malet Lambert to concentrate on her family.

She have been involved in education in varying roles for the previous 25 years, having worked within primary education, University of Humberside and latterly Hull secondary schools. She looks forward to continuing to work with the Malet family.

 

Mark Buttifant

Mark Buttifant

Role: Governor

Link for Science.

Mark is originally from the South Coast and studied Civil Engineering at Leeds University before moving to Hull. Mark worked as a Civil Engineer and a Project Manager before starting his own property development company. He has also been an advisor for the Department of Work and Pensions and more recently joined the team of Exam Invigilators at Malet Lambert.

Mark brings experience of private industry, including management of strategic planning, financial control and logistics and most importantly brings commitment and enthusiasm to help the school achieve its goals.
