Paul Holloway

Paul Holloway

Role: Chair of Governors

Responsibiolities: Overall Effectiveness, Single Central Register, Raising Standards

Paul is Chair of Governors, and has seen all three of his children thrive at Malet Lambert. Paul takes a keen interest in all aspects of the school, especially those which reflect his role as Arts and Culture Manager at Hull City Council. Paul believes that the success of the City of Culture 2017 has given all of our young people a new confidence and pride in their city, and is proud to play a part in providing opportunities for all the fantastic young people at Malet Lambert.

Gill Andrews

Gill Andrews

Role: Vice-Chair of Governors

Gill, being a former pupil of Malet Lambert, is proud to be a part of the governing body.

Gill has knowledge and experience of Special Educational Needs, safeguarding, looked after children and Pupil Premium.

She is responsible for these areas of expertise at Malet Lambert. Gill has also worked as a part time youth worker.

Ann Barker

Ann Barker

Role: Governor

Ann is an experienced governor and former Chair of Governors.
 
Ann’s background consists of classroom teaching and various senior teaching roles across schools in Hull and the East Riding. She also sits on the Board of Trustees for the Multi-Academy Trust and is delighted to be part of such an exciting partnership.

Ken McCall

Ken McCall

Role: Staff Governor

Ken McCall has worked in local education primarily within ICT & Computer Science and more recently as a Head of Year. He is an active trade union representative for the NUT (National Union of Teachers), representing members both collectively and individually; and serves on the executive board of the local division.

He has also recently been appointed as a Director of National Careers Week. His areas of knowledge and expertise include education policy, industrial relations, and IT policy and procurement.

 

Claire Hanmer

Role: Staff Governor

Claire is the previous Head of Modern Foreign Languages at Malet Lambert. Claire has always had a keen interest in supporting trainee teachers and NQTs.

She worked as a mentor before taking on the role of ITT and NQT coordinator six years ago. She considers this to be a key role and is always keen to support colleagues and help develop their skills. Claire ensures that consistently high quality training, in all subject areas, is delivered for ITT students and NQTs.

As part of her role, she trains staff and facilitates coaching sessions across the school.

Elaine Johansson

Elaine Johansson

Role: Governor

Elaine is very proud to be a member of the Local Governing Body, having recently taken early retirement from the role of PA to the Head of School at Malet Lambert to concentrate on her family.

She have been involved in education in varying roles for the previous 25 years, having worked within primary education, University of Humberside and latterly Hull secondary schools. She looks forward to continuing to work with the Malet family.

 

Jaime Pearce

Jaime Pearce

Role: Governor

I was born and raised in Lincolnshire, studied to become a teacher in Scarborough and moved to Hull when I got my first teaching job at Neasden Primary School. I am now Head of School at Longhill Primary School where I have worked for 16 years. I am passionate about children’s education and I look forward to working closely with the staff and children at Malet Lambert.

Martin Hegarty

Martin Hegarty

Role: Governor

Martin moved to Hull over 25 years ago. He works for Ineos at Saltend as the laboratory manager. Martin's background is science, and he studied chemistry at Queen's University of Belfast.

Although new to Malet Lambert School, he was chair of governors at a local primary school for several years.
