The Technology department comprises of 7 subject specific and purpose built classrooms, all equipped with interactive whiteboards and modern subject specific machinery and equipment. One of the classrooms is a computer suite. Design and technology is a very diverse and dynamic department.

The department has a number of staff who offer extra-curricular coursework sessions for all Key Stage 4 pupils.
The department often takes part in local competitions and events.
The Design Technology department work collaboratively to present a week of activities in June for BNF Healthy Eating Week. Lessons in Food Technology are designed around the theme of staying healthy and fit.
The School canteen supports Healthy Eating Week by cooking up a winning menu which is designed by the winner of the Malet Lambert Healthy Eating challenge.
The Food Technology department regularly cater for celebration events, charity bake sales and run frequent enterprise activities.This gives pupil volunteers the chance to grow and use produce from the school garden to make and sell innovative food products (The dig for Victory club) and cook and serve delicious meals in the pupil-run ‘Pop-up’ Bistro .
The Incredible Edible lunch club is a fun Food-Science club held weekly in the Food Technology department. Pupils learn the functions of ingredients and make exciting food products to take home including; popcorn, cinder toffee, flavoured butters and preserves.
