Over the past week, pupils from local primary schools have been visiting our school to take part in transition activities.
Year 5 pupils have been working with Engaging Education, a Yorkshire-based educational marketing company, to design a transition superhero who will star in a real comic.
Over the course of the day, they took part in team tasks and created a storyboard detailing what their newly-designed character would get up to.
They got to choose the powers and outfit that their superhero would have, and what adventures they would get up to.
The idea of the superhero is someone who helps people in the setting of Malet Lambert, when faced with a bad guy.
The designs are then taken away by Engaging Education and made into real comic books, which are distributed to the schools.
The aim of these activities is to introduce Year 5 pupils to our school and help them feel more familiar with new surroundings, ready for choosing their new school in September when they start Year 6.
All pupils and staff involved have had a wonderful time, and are looking forward to seeing their comic when it is created!
